Well, well, well! It appears that the drama from the Mrs. World competition just continues to keep on giving. After world-gripping headlines about the Sri Lanka drama over who is the rightful winner of the 2021 Mrs. World pageant, Caroline Jurie has decided to return her crown. A recent Al Jazeera article headlined “Mrs. World returns her crown after Sri Lanka pageant controversy,” saying Jurie returned it voluntarily, but still defends her action of forcefully removing it from the original winner, Pushpika de Silva.
After Jurie forcefully removed the crown from de Silva, she was later charged with injuring de Silva during the fiasco.
But even though Jurie returned the crown, it appears that neither Jurie nor de Silva will be wearing it any time soon. That’s because the new winner is Kate Schneider of Ireland, the runner-up of the 2020 contest.
